Taste of Wine & Cheese

This weekend we added a little more culture into our lives. On Friday, Jocelyn, Solange, Dave and I enjoyed the festivities down at Churchill Square and discovered a new addition to the Taste of Edmonton - the Taste of Wine. Using your tickets, you can sample a selection of wines! We purchased all 6 kinds and the four of us enjoyed swishing and swirling our plastic dixie cups in an attempt to be more refined.

On Saturday night, since we had such a fun time sampling the wines, Jocelyn, Solange, Angela and I decided to have a wine and cheese night. (Dave went "out of town"). We each brought a wine we've never tried and a couple of cheese that were different. Overall we had 5 wines and 8 cheeses and this weird greek confection that Solange thought was cheese.

Our top rated wine was the Casasole Orvieto Amabile from Italy, with the Cavat Collection Pinot Grigio from Italy coming in second place.

Overall, it was a great night! One thing we neglected to do though with the "proper" wine tasting was the spitting out of the wine after tasting it...too much wine...
