Buck Lake 2003

This past long weekend, I went camping to Buck Lake with my friends and had a blast! We had great food, beautiful weather, a clear lake, and, of course, incredible company. While camping I learned some many helpful tips that I thought I should pass on in the event that you ever go camping:

1. When swimming in a lake, always have a place to hold your beverage. Possible ideas include a picnic table submerged partially in the lake and/or a friend in a small inflatable dingy to act as the cooler/bar.

2. Do not be alarmed when grasshoppers jump into your pants. To successfully remove, simply drop your said pants immediately (see Letourneau for more details).

3. Stella beer tastes like envelope glue.

4. When drinking, always remember to keep your wits about you...pants are optional.

5. Bikinis can be worn by all French-Hungarians, male or female.

6. When trying to escape from an attacker, do not run with a propane lantern...they'll find you every time.

7. $34.02 worth of Greek salad does not taste good when it has been sitting in a cooler for 2 days with limited ice.

8. When replacing drinking water with well water that smells like eggs ensure everyone has been adequately warned. On a related note – flat Diet Sprite works very well when brushing one's teeth.

9. When attempting to clear an area of bugs, one technique known as “sissy kung-fu” has been proven effective. Running like a gremlin may also serve as a possible deterrent.

10. Always thank those who do nice things for you...Ryan!

11. Balloons do not work well as a party decoration when camping...HPY BIR HAY to Angela, Dave & Todd!

12. Whatever happens make sure someone took a picture!

13. Don't tick off the tree gods.

14. And finally, if you need to fiesta don't do it in the palace!
